We love when fashion labels drop us a surprise for the sight and general senses. The folks at Louis Vuitton was pretty sneaky at that; though they were so careful to contain any news leaks on the much talked-about Supreme collaboration, the internet was too quick and managed to capture all the backstage goods before its official release on the runway. This latest collab on the other hand, has everyone SHOOK!
On the brand’s Instagram page 2 days ago, a clip featuring some of the world’s most famous work of arts emerged with the words Jeff Koons ‘JK’ emblazoned in the iconic LV typeface (the only artist to have allowed to reconfigure their infamous monogram!). Joining the ranks of other artists who had lent their creativity with Louis Vuitton like Richard Prince, Yayoi Kusama, Stephen Sprouse and James Turrell; the capsule collection of bags and accessories are emblazoned with his ‘Gazing Balls’ painting with cheeky reproductions of Old Masters like da Vinci, Titian, Rubens, Fragonard and Van Gogh. Each bag also has a tag in the shape of his iconic inflatable rabbit. Koons wants the bags to encourage “appreciation for things that came before us or things outside the self” and sees them as “celebrating humanity.” Will you cop these?
